During the 1990s, RocketMail was one of the most frequently used free Web-based e-mail services until it was acquired by Yahoo! in 1997. However, although RocketMail no longer exists, you can access your RocketMail e-mail via Yahoo! and can view it in MS Outlook with the right POP mail settings.

Skill level:
Moderately Easy

  1. 1

Launch the Microsoft Outlook software on your computer or laptop. Select "Tools" from the toolbar and then click on "Account Settings."

  2. 2

Click on "New" under the "E-mail" tab in the "Account Settings" dialogue box.

  3. 3

Check the "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" at the bottom of the "Add New e-mail Account" dialogue box and then click "Next."

  4. 4

Click on the "Internet Email" radio button to select the option that will allow you to use the Yahoo! POP settings.

  5. 5

Enter your desired display name in the "Your Name" field and then your RocketMail e-mail address in the "Email Address" field.

  6. 6

Type in "" in the Incoming Mail Server field and "" in the "Outgoing Mail Server" field.

  7. 7

Enter your RocketMail user name without the "" and also your password. Select next to complete the account set-up.

  8. 8

Click on the "Inbox" icon at the left pane in the main menu screen of the MS Outlook screen to view your RocketMail in Outlook.
