Whether you're advertising the sale of an item, or the search for a roommate, having a flyer with tear-off slips along the bottom can be a useful means of getting your message across to the multitudes along with a contact phone number. Printing these flyers with the phone numbers running sideways can be a problem. To get the phone number to print in small strips along the bottom of the page you'll need to rotate the texts, and unless you're using a document creator that allows placement of text into text boxes, this rotation may be nearly impossible. With the right software however, rotating text is a simple matter of a few mouse clicks.

Instructions

  1. 1

Open a document creation application such as Microsoft's Word or Publisher to create the flyer.

  2. 2

Click the "Insert" tab in the top menu then chose the "Text Box" option.

  3. 3

Select "Simple Text Box" from the pop-up menu.

  4. 4

Type the phone number, and any other information you'd like to place on the tear-off strips into the text box.

  5. 5

Click onto the green ball at the top of the box and hold the mouse down while moving the mouse to the right to rotate the box. Stop moving the mouse when you've rotated the box 90 degrees, then release the mouse.

  6. 6

Click on the outline around the edge of the text box and drag the box to the bottom of the page, positioned in the far left corner.

  7. 7

Right-click on the outline and select the "Copy" option. Right-click on the work area and select "Paste" to paste a copy of the box into the document. Drag the copy to the bottom of the page and position it alongside the first text box. Continue to paste new text boxes into the document until you've filled the bottom of the page with the telephone numbers.

  8. 8

Print the page with the telephone numbers at the base by clicking "File," selecting "Print" and then pressing the "Print" button.

  9. 9

Cut down the centre of the space between the phone numbers with a pair of scissors to create your tear off strips.
