Honour is one of the point systems that determines your rank in the Evony online game. You gain or lose honour in battle with other players depending on the strength of yourself vs. your opponent, whether or not you win and how many troops you lose in the process. It may seem counterproductive to lose honour, but it can sometimes be a benefit because it's easier to heal troops with lower honour. There are a number of ways you can lower your honour; any unfair fight is nearly guaranteed to do so.

  1. 1

Attack a huge army that outnumbers your own. You will most likely lose many if not all of your troops; this is one of the quickest methods of losing honour.

  2. 2

Attack an army that is much weaker than your own or if the commander of that army cannot defend. Attacking a weakened opponent is considered dishonourable in this game.

  3. 3

Send all of your archers into melee combat; they will be destroyed since they are not melee fighters.

  4. 4

Send out your cavalry troops to clear out any traps in an area. This can help the rest of your troops, but willingly sacrificing the cavalry in the process can deplete your honour slightly.

  5. 5

Close your fortress gates when another player attacks and send no reinforcements to help your defences. Letting your defences be destroyed will reduce your honour.

Tips and warnings

  • You must attack another player and that player's army to lose honour. You can't lose honour attacking nonplayer characters (characters controlled by the computer).
