If you are designing your own invitations using a word processing program such as Microsoft Word, you can add a scroll design to your template using a few simple steps. Microsoft Word has a "Clip Art" library with scroll designs that you can insert into your invitation as an image. Move your scroll design to different places on your invitation by clicking the image and moving your cursor.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Open a new Microsoft Word document. You can access Microsoft Word from your "Start" menu or from your desktop. Look for a white document symbol with a blue "W" on it.

  2. 2

Click your "Office Button" in the top left of the screen. Click "New" and "Invitations." Scroll through the invitation templates. Once you find an invitation that you like, double-click its icon. The invitation template will download into your word processing document.

  3. 3

Click your cursor somewhere on the invitation. Click "Insert," followed by the "Clip Art" button. When the Clip Art menu pops up, type "scroll" in the empty search box. Click on the "Search In" drop-down box and check the box beside "Everywhere." Click the "Go" button.

  4. 4

Select the scroll design you like and double-click it. The scroll image will appear in your invitation.
