Just as battle armour protects the body from harm during times of war, a spiritual armour protects an individual from negative influence and evil. There are some creative ways to make this memorable for children. An armour of God necklace is a popular choice among girls and an armour of God bracelet works for both girls and boys.

    Armour of God Necklaces

  1. 1

Choose the twine colour. Select beads that compliment that colour. Create a general colour scheme and pattern for the beads.

  2. 2

Find charms having to do with God's armour. Choose helmet charms or other pieces of armour-like shields and swords. Find inspirational word charms such as Faith, Courage, CTR (Choose the Right), Return with Honor or Rely on God. There are many to choose from.

  3. 3

Thread an end of twine into a sewing needle. Tie a knot in the other end of the twine. String the beads and charms onto the twine one by one in the desired pattern.

    Armour of God Bracelets

  1. 1

Have the children choose three different colours of twine. Help girls choose a couple of charms. Guide boys to the helmet and armour charms, and have them choose one.

  2. 2

Cut three strands of twine, each a foot-long, in each colour, for a total of six strands. Set something heavy on top of one end of the strands. Braid the strands into a long thick braid, half way down. Thread the charms onto a couple strands and continue to braid the rest of the way to the end.

  3. 3

Take turns encircling the children's wrists with the twine that each has braided. Measure the length needed. Cut to size and tie ends together.
