After adding multimedia files to your Winamp playlist, you may often come across duplicate entries. The default Winamp interface comes with a button to help you get rid of them. Some skins, however, remove this button from the layout. To get around this problem, you'll need to switch Winamp back to one of its default skins (Classic, Modern or Bento). After getting rid of duplicate playlist entries you can switch back to your favourite skin .

Skill level:

  1. 1

    Launch Winamp.

  2. 2

Open the playlist editor. To do this, right-click on the Winamp menu bar and then make sure that "Playlist Editor" is checked on the context menu.

  3. 3

Click the "Rem" or "-" button at the bottom of the playlist editor.

  4. 4

Go to "Rem Misc" and then click on "Remove Duplicate Entries." If you are using the Bento skin, click "Remove" and then click on "Remove Duplicate Entries."

Tips and warnings

  • Quickly remove duplicate entries from your playlist by holding down the "Shift" key and then pressing "Delete."
