Used for simple and easy to work closures, Velcro allows frequent attaching and detaching. This makes Velcro tape a convenient tool for sewing projects like clothing, wallets, curtains and other pieces that need versatile closures. Velcro can be sewn onto fabrics but convenient fusible Velcro tape can be ironed onto fabrics instead. This not only makes installation easy but it also creates a firm bond between the Velcro and fabric.

Measure the length of fabric where you need to place a Velcro strip using a measuring tape.

Cut the needed length of loop Velcro tape with a pair of sewing scissors. Cut a strip of fuzzy Velcro tape to the same length.

Pin the lengths of tape along the fabric where they need to be adhered.

Flip the fabric over and hold it firmly on the strips of tape as you carefully remove each pin, keeping the tape in place.

Heat a clothing iron to medium-high heat and smooth it over the fabric, pressing it gently into the tape beneath it. Hold it over each inch of the tape for at least 60 seconds. Allow the piece to cool before moving it or sticking the Velcro strips together.
