A petition allows a person to rally supporters for any cause. Common petitions include a proposed change to the law, a petition to elect someone to a position or a petition to modify working conditions. You can create your very own printable petition with ease by following some simple steps. This will allow you to print out your petition and hit the streets in search of supporters.

Instructions

  1. 1

Create the header. The top of the petition should state the purpose of your cause in bold letters. For example, "Petition to shorten the work week to four days." Below that, place your name as the petition sponsor. Under that, place the name and address of the recipient of the petition.

  2. 2

Add in some information. You may wish to state some key facts below the header and above the signature lines. Try to keep the points short and in bullet format. People will not want to read a lengthy explanation on the form itself.

  3. 3

Add in the signature lines. Type in "We the undersigned would like to bring your attention to this issue." Add in as many signature lines as you see fit for your case. Include the information you wish people to include in their signatures directly above the first line. For example, "name, address, phone number, e-mail."
