Scooby-Doo is a cartoon dog from a show that began airing in the 1970s. He is comical, kid-friendly and his mission is to hunt down ghosts with his gang of friends. He has become a popular character among children. You can find Scooby-Doo toys, clothing and even party supplies. A Scooby-Doo cake would make any fan happy. If you have decided that you want a Scooby-Doo cake, consider making it yourself to avoid costly bakery prices. Spend that extra money on decorations, party favours or on a gift for your special little one.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Find the Scooby-Doo picture you want for your Scooby-Doo cake. You can print one off from an online source or you can tear one from a colouring book. If you are artistic, you can draw out your own Scooby-Doo picture for your custom cake.

  2. 2

Take your picture to a local printing service. Staples, Office Max and Office Depot are examples of places that may be easy and convenient for you to get to. You need to have your picture blown up and reprinted. The picture needs to become the size of the cake you wish to have.

  3. 3

Cut out the new, enlarged picture of Scooby-Doo. Lay it to the side until you bake your sheet cake. Once the cake is baked and cooled, lay the picture on top of the cake.

  4. 4

Use a toothpick to pierce around the outside edge of the Scooby-Doo picture. If the picture hangs off the sides of your cake in places, don't worry about it. You can use scrap cake to place at these areas once you cut along the toothpick holes.

  5. 5

Remove the picture and use a sharp knife to cut along the toothpick holes. This will create a Scooby-Doo shaped cake. Place the picture back on top of the cake, and look for areas that are missing. Place pieces of scrap cake in the missing places in the picture. Use the knife to cut around the paper edge to complete the Scooby-Doo picture.

  6. 6

Cover the cake with chocolate frosting. Use a frosting bag and tip to create details on Scooby-Doo. You will need white, black and pink frosting to complete your Scooby-Doo cake.
