When you first set up your Lenovo ThinkPad T500, you choose a password in order to protect the computer. But if you feel the password has become compromised, you may want to change the password. This process doesn't involve computer programming, so even if you aren't tech savvy you can change the password yourself.

Turn on your T500, and log on as an administrator at the start-up window.
Enter your current user name in the text box and click "OK." You will then be prompted to enter a password for the user.
Enter a new password in the text field and click "OK." You will then be prompted to retype the password in order to confirm it.
Retype the password and click "OK" to confirm. The password is now changed.
