Baked Chicken Goujons

Chicken goujons are a delicious meal idea and, when baked, are much healthier than using the traditional method of deep frying. This is a quick recipe that uses mainly cupboard ingredients so is a great fall back when you want a delicious meal in no time at all. If you want to, you can spice the goujons up by adding a little chilli and garlic to the breadcrumbs.

Things you need

  • Chicken breast
  • Plain flour
  • Egg
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Oil
  • Baking tray

    Preheat the oven to 204 degrees Celsius.

    Cut the chicken breast into strips.

  3. 3

    Beat the egg in a bowl and put some flour and breadcrumbs into two other bowls. Add salt and pepper to the breadcrumbs and mix.

    Rub a baking tray with a little oil and then, one at a time, dip each strip of chicken into the flour, egg and breadcrumbs. Make sure each time that the chicken is fully coated. Put each dipped piece onto the oiled baking tray.

    Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until the breadcrumbs are golden.

Tips and warnings

  • Make sure the chicken is cooked all the way through before serving by cutting open the largest goujon.
