Updated August 11, 2017

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average heights of the American male and female are 69.4 inches and 63.8 inches respectively, which translate to about 5 feet, 9.5 inches and 5 feet, 4 inches. If you stand 6 feet 2 inches, then you indeed tower over most Americans, but what about other nationalities? To measure how you stand up to other world citizens, you must convert your height into centimetres before you begin your comparisons.

Multiply the measurement of 6 feet by 30.48 to convert it to an equivalent measurement in centimetres. Multiplying 6 by 30.48 results in 182.88.

Multiply the inch measurement of 2 by 2.54 to transform it to an equivalent measurement. Multiplying 2 by 2.54 results in 5.08.

Sum the two centimetre measurements. Adding 182.88 to 5.08 results in 187.96. The equivalent measurement of 6 feet 2 inches is 187.96 centimetres.
