Having a hidden safe in your home allows you to hide valuables such as money and jewellery. Instead of spending money on store-bought products, you can easily make your own safe -- actually, you can make several if you need additional space -- with a few tools and items you probably already have available. Homemade hidden safes can't be locked. Their security lies in the fact that they can be hidden among other household products.

Things you need
- Safety can opener
- Empty aerosol can
- Hot glue gun
- Small jar with screw-on lid
- Paper towels
- Sharp scissors
Flip the can over and use a safety can opener to remove the entire bottom. Pull the plastic spray tube out. Rinse the can out thoroughly and allow it to air-dry.
Remove the lid from the jar. Position the top side of the jar lid on the inner side of the aerosol can bottom. Make sure the top lid is centred on the bottom one. Glue the lids together using a hot glue gun to make a hidden safe.
Slide the jar into the open end of the aerosol can. Screw the top on the jar -- the bottom will be in place on the aerosol can -- and allow the glue to dry.
Unscrew the lid of the hidden safe. Carefully slide the jar out. Carefully stuff a couple of paper towels into the body of the can for padding to help hold the jar in place.
Fold a paper towel so it's the same width as the jar is tall. Wrap the jar with enough paper so it fits snugly inside the aerosol can. Cut off any excess.
Glue the paper towel around the jar with the hot glue gun to make your hidden safe. Slide the jar into the opening of the aerosol can. Place some hot glue around the neck of the jar to hold it in place.
Screw the lid back on the aerosol can and allow the glue to thoroughly dry before you start using your homemade hidden safe.
