EMU Systems created the digital audio system model 1212m. The EMU 1212m converts a regular computer into a full-fledged workstation for digital audio processing, with mixing and editing capabilities. The EMU 1212m consists of a main PCI card for signal processing, plus a daughter card for input/output, plus a variety of cables and adaptors for interfacing with professional audio equipment. A 5.1 surround sound system has five regular speakers (front and rear for each stereo channel, plus centre) and a subwoofer. You can configure your EMU 1212m to output 5.1 sound to a system of external speakers.

Skill level:

  1. 1

Connect the 1L output of the EMU 1212m (use 1/4-inch connectors for all connections) to the front-left speaker. Connect the 1R output of the EMU 1212m to the front-right speaker.

  2. 2

Connect the 2L output to the rear-left speaker. Connect the 2R output to the rear-right speaker.

  3. 3

Connect the 3L output to the centre speaker. Connect the 3R output to the subwoofer.
