Land Rover designed the Defender 90 vehicle to go off-road, and there are times when it's easier to get in and out of the Defender 90 with the aid of a side step. The side steps also provide solid footing for accessing the Land Rover's roof rack, where you may need to stow items to keep them safe when barrelling along on your off-road adventure. If your Defender 90 didn't come from the factory with side steps, you can easily install a set if you're handy with a wrench and in good physical shape.
Climb under the driver's side of the Defender 90 with the left-hand side step and the socket set.
Hang the side step brackets onto the factory side step mounts, which are located just behind the front wheel and directly in front of the rear wheel.
Bolt the side steps to the mounts using the socket set and the supplied bolts and nuts.
Move to the Defender 90s passenger side. Repeat the first three steps to install the right-hand side step.
Land Rover had easy installation and removal in mind when designing the Defender 90 side step system. To remove the side steps, simply reverse the installation instructions.
