How Do I Tune in a Maxim 11-44 Combo TV?

Written by james clark | 13/05/2017

The Maxim 11-44 Combo is a 15-inch TV that includes a built-in DVD player for watching videodiscs or viewing programs when the unit is connected to a signal source such as cable TV. The combo unit was manufactured by California-based Maxim mainly for sale in the United Kingdom and has since been discontinued. Tuning the Maxim 11-44 is not significantly different from tuning any other type of TV, using either the supplied remote control or the buttons on the front of the set.

Things you need

  • Coaxial cable

  • Source signal, such as cable or satellite service

Connect the coaxial cable from the source signal to the "RF IN" jack on the back of the Maxim 11-44, turning the cable ring to the right to tighten the connection.

Press the "Power" button on the front of the 11-44 or use the supplied remote control to turn on the set.

Press the "Up Channel" or "Down Channel" button to tune the Maxim to either Channel 3 or Channel 4 depending on the directions that come with your source component, such as a cable set-top box. The unit must be tuned to one or the other to receive signals, so test on Channel 3, and if it doesn't produce a signal then switch to Channel 4.

Press the "DVD" button to switch the combo for use with the built-in DVD player.
