How to Deactivate a 2007 Ford Mondeo Seat Belt Alarm

Updated April 17, 2017

The 2007 Ford Mondeo comes equipped with the Belt-Minder seat belt alert system. This system sounds a chime and illuminates the seat belt safety signal on the dashboard of your vehicle if it senses any front seat passengers in the vehicle without their seat belt on while the vehicle's engine is on. The chime will sound for up to five minutes or until the passengers buckle their seat belt, but it can be disabled if it proves annoying.

Park your vehicle and close all of its windows and doors. Unbuckle your seat belt and remove the key from your vehicle's ignition.

Place your key back in the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without turning the engine on.

Buckle and unbuckle your seat belt nine times rapidly in 12 seconds. Your dashboard's seat belt safety signal will illuminate for approximately three seconds.

Buckle and unbuckle your seat belt one more time within five seconds of the seat belt safety signal turning off. Your vehicle's Belt-Minder system is now disabled.

Driving without a seat belt increases the chance of injury during a car accident.
