How to Install a Dual Output LNB Satellite

A dual LNB satellite dish gives you dual outputs to run so you can watch two different programs on two different televisions. The second output means you will need to run two sets of coaxial cable to the dish location to connect to the LNBs. The rest of the install is a lot like installing the standard single LNB dish. Before getting started you need to find a solid spot to mount the dish that gives you a clear line of sight to the southern sky.

Secure the base of the mast to the location you selected. Mark off where the screw holes will be. Drill out the holes and then screw down the base with the hardware included.

Adjust the mast so it is straight up and down and level. You can do this by using a bubble level. This is very important when trying to locate the signal later on.

Find the azimuth, elevation and skew angle coordinates you will need to locate the satellite signal. Go to the menu on your dish receiver and select "Dish Pointing." Put in your zip code to get the accurate coordinates.

Set the elevation and skew by using the guides on the dish assembly that are on the back of the dish. Set the skew and elevation points to the numbers you need. Tighten the skew and elevation bolts down as tight as you can.

Place the dish on the top of the mast and slide it over the top as far as it will go. Rotate your dish to the azimuth needed by turning the dish until the red line lines up with your number. Tighten down the azimuth bolt.

Push the two coax cables through the bottom of the mast near the base. Continue until they both come out of the top.

Take the cables from the top of the mast and feed them through the LNB arm that extends from the dish. Start at the opening closest to the dish and push the cables through the arm until they come out the other end.

Twist the F-connectors on the end of the coaxial cables onto the LNB as if you are connecting the cable to the back of your television.

Place the LNB base to the LNB arm by sliding the base over the end of the arm till the bolt holes match up. Insert a bolt into the bolt holes and tighten them down as tight as you can get them.
