- Warm or cold water
Activate your glow stick by bending it back and forth along its length until it glows. Shake your glow stick after it begins glowing to completely mix the chemicals.
Fill a glass mason jar with water. Colder water will result in a longer glow time; warm water will result in a brighter glow.
Place one, or several, glow sticks in the mason jar. Make sure they fit comfortably and won't hamper putting the top on the jar.
Put the jar lid on tightly, screwing the washer down completely.
Shake the jar up to get the sticks mixed up and glowing brightly.
