Adding an audiobook to iTunes allows users to load their favourite literary works to their iPod or iPhone. A CD audiobook is typically divided into multiple tracks--if imported as-is, an audiobook may play out of order and will have space between tracks. Joining the CD tracks from an audiobook will create one longer track that allows a user always listen to the book in order from iTunes or their iPod.

Open iTunes on your computer.
Insert the audio book CD into your computer. If prompted to automatically import all tracks, select "No."
Click on the name of the CD in the sidebar to see the track list. Select all tracks by clicking on the first track and then clicking on the last track while holding down the "Shift" key.
Go to the "Advanced" tab in the menu bar, located along the top of the iTunes, screen and click "Join Tracks."
Wait until the iTunes message field states that the track join is complete, and then click "Import" in the bottom right corner of the screen. The audiobook will appear as one file in your iTunes library and the book will always play in order with no space in between the previously individual tracks.
