Whether you're watching a Vikings and dragons movie with the kids or hosting a Viking mythology-themed party, Viking cupcakes are a treat that can help set the mood. These colour-coordinated cakes look just like Viking helmets, complete with large horns sticking up from their tops. Bake and decorate a batch of regular or oversized cupcakes for your Viking-inspired get-together.

Mix white frosting with the appropriate colour of gel food colouring for your desired helmet type: black to create a pewter look or brown for a leather helmet.

Spread a layer of frosting over the cupcakes, mounding it into a smooth dome to look like the top of a helmet.

Place a line of cupcake pearls across the entire surface of the cupcake top, as if the pearls were a stripe running from the Viking's nose to the back of his head. Add a ring of cupcake pearls around the edge of the entire cupcake for additional decoration, if you like.

Place the cupcake with the line of pearls running up and down in front of you. Stick one Bugle snack or cashew on each side of the pearl line near the edge of the cupcake, where the horns would stick up in a real Viking helmet.
