Securing your personal digital media, like photographs, videos and text messages is important. As a result, almost all cell phone manufacturers install "locks" on their handsets to prevent unauthorised access to your data if your phone is lost or stolen. The Sony Ericsson K810i phone comes with a SIM card lock to protect information stored on your SIM card and a phone lock to protect the phone itself. You will need to enter a numeric code to unlock your K810i.

Switch on your K810i. If the SIM card is locked, a "SIM PIN" message will appear.
Enter your SIM PIN using the number buttons. The PIN is between four and eight digits and was supplied with your phone.
Press "OK." The SIM card unlocks with the correct PIN.
Switch on your K810i. A "Phone Locked" message appears if the phone lock is active.
Enter your lock code using the number keys. The default code is "0000."
Press "OK." The phone unlocks. You can now make calls and send messages.
