How to Remove a Drain Pump Hose From a Washing Machine

Updated February 21, 2017

You've taken apart your washing machine to get to your drain pump, but you can't remove the drain pump until you remove the hoses attached to the pump. Although these hoses are securely fastened to the drain pump to prevent leaks, you can remove the hoses with a few tools and a little elbow grease.

Place a towel under the drain pump and hoses to catch any water that drips out when you remove the hoses.

Squeeze the clamps on the drain pump hoses with pliers.

Slide the clamps up the hoses, away from the drain pump.

Twist the hoses off the pump.
