Cupcake carriers make for easy transportation. (funny cupcake image by coffee break from Fotolia.com)

Cupcakes are a treat that is enjoyed by many people around the world. They are eaten to celebrate a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary date, or very casually as an indulgent dessert. They can also be given as gifts to friends or family members. Transporting multiple cupcakes at a time is not an easy task and you run the risk of ruining the frosting design. Creating a homemade cupcake carrier is simple, practical and can be customised to fit any occasion.

Instructions

  1. 1

Purchase 14-inch by 20-inch cake boxes from your local bake shop.

  2. 2

Purchase small plastic party cups from a party shop.

  3. 3

Line up the cups on the bottom of the cake box, making sure they are spaced evenly. Roughly 24 cups should fit in each box.

  4. 4

Apply glue to the base of each cup and secure it in place. Allow at least an hour for the glue to dry.

  5. 5

Decorate the cups and cake box to match the occasion. You can be as creative with this as you like. When delivering the cupcakes to a friend or family member, a little design work makes it appear more personalised.
