The Nuvi 265w is a Global Positioning System (GPS) navigation device produced by Garmin that boasts a touch-screen display, voice prompts and automatic rerouting. Garmin has discontinued the device from its product line-up. However, if you experience a problem with your Garmin 265w navigation device, you may be able to resolve the issue by performing a hard reset of the device.

Turn off and unplug the device.

Press the lower right corner of the screen with your finger or a pencil eraser, and keep pressing while you turn the device back on with the power button.

Touch "Yes" when you receive the message "Do you really want to erase all user data?" This will reset the device to factory defaults.

Follow the prompts to reconfigure your device.

Resetting your Garmin Nuvi 265w will erase all data stored on the device. If possible, back up your Nuvi before performing the reset.
