How to Access Netgear ReadyNAS Through a VPN

If you are using a ReadyNAS server, you may be concerned about connecting to the file storage server using different connection types. The ReadyNAS servers can be accessed behind any number of connection protocols and the method remains the same throughout. To connect to a ReadyNAS server, you simply need to know the IP address or server name to access the files.

    Click the "Windows" button (previously called the "Start" button).

    Type into the search box that appears -- "//hostname" or "//ip.address" -- both without quotes. Replace "hostname" with the server name. Replace "ip.address" with the ReadyNAS IP address.

    Press "enter" and Windows will connect you to the server, regardless of your connection method.
