"World in Conflict" is a real-time tactics (RTT) PC game in which players control NATO military units to repel an alternate reality Soviet invasion. In "World in Conflict," players do not have to build a "base" and collect resources, as required in the closely related real-time strategy (RTS) genre. If an old copy of a game is destroyed or needs to be replaced, a new copy will not run if the same version of the game is installed. Reinstalling the game and re-entering your CD key, which verifies authenticity, is the only way to replace it.
