How to Repair a Schwinn Airdyne Ergometer

An ergometer measures the amount of effort you expend during a workout. The Schwinn Airdyne has a computer that functions as an ergometer. It tell you time you've been exercising, the speed you are pedalling, the approximate number of calories burnt and heart rate. You may need a Schwinn service call to repair the ergometer, but there are steps you can try first.

Instructions

    Open the battery compartment on the back of the ergometer. Make sure the batteries are inserted correctly. If correcting the batteries does not fix the problem, proceed to Step 2.

    Open the battery compartment and insert new batteries.

  3. 3

    Confirm your choice of English or metric measurements by using the "+" or "-." Press "Enter." Change this selection by holding down the "Reset" and "Enter" buttons for three seconds.

    Choose the "Hom" setting for use in your home or "Club" for use in a gym. Select "Enter."

  5. 5

    Enter your elevation above sea level using the "+" and "-" buttons. Press "Enter." Repeat this step to enter your weight. The computer is now reset. If problems continue, call Schwinn customer service.
