The LG Company makes a variety of home appliances and products, including televisions, vacuum cleaners, computers, mobile phones, refrigerators, and washers and dryers. LG washers offer a variety of features, including energy-saving cycles, direct drive motors and high efficiency; some have Energy Star ratings and steam wash cycles. Note that hot water temperatures may be useful in removing stains or washing heavy-duty items, while using cold water temperature cycles may save energy costs and are useful for delicate wash items. Operating an LG washer once it is installed is relatively simple.
Ensure that the LG washer is properly connected to a working power and water supply.
Press the "Power" button to turn on the machine.
Open the washer door and place soiled laundry items inside.
Close the door firmly.
Turn the "Cycle Selector Knob" to the desired wash cycle, based upon the clothing fabrics, soil level and/or temperature. Your cycle selection will vary based on your washing needs. Use the "Extra Hot" temperature cycle for kitchen towels, sheets and baby clothes; the "Hot" temperature for whites and coloured items that have stains and are colour-fast; and the "Cold" temperature for bright items, washable wool items and delicate pieces.
Choose the "Prewash" option and/or the "Stain" spin cycle options to allow for longer spin and rinse times when washing stained or especially soiled clothes.
Choose the "Extra Rinse" option when bleach is used or the clothes have other residues or detergents that should be rinsed out carefully.
Utilise the "Quick Rinse" option when washing new clothes or clothes that have been in storage.
Press the "Delay Wash" button to delay the wash cycle one hour and again for every hour you wish to delay the onset of the wash cycle.
Use the "Steam" cycle for soiled clothes, underwear, baby items, dress shirts and blouses. Steam provides a chemical-free alternative to cleaning delicate items and is powerful enough to remove stains. To use, press "Steam Wash" and then the desired setting, such as "Baby Wear" or "Cotton/Normal."
Remove germs, bacteria and other soils from large, bulky items such as blankets, sheets and towels by running them through the steam cycle with the "Sanitary" option.
Open the detergent compartment and add washing detergent to the opening closest to the front of the washer. Do not exceed the fill line on the detergent compartment.
Pour fabric softener into the fabric softener compartment if desired, which is located toward the back of the detergent compartment. Do not exceed the fill line.
Add bleach to the middle compartment if desired. Do not exceed the fill line.
Press "Start" to begin the wash cycle.
If the door will not open and the LG washer has a child lock feature, "CL" will blink on the display if it is engaged. Press the "Soil Level" and "Beeper" buttons at the same time and hold them for three seconds to release the lock.
Avoid using the steam option on silk, wool or easily discoloured clothes.
