The Vicks V150SG is a warm steam vaporiser that features a 1.5-gallon capacity water reservoir, a medicine cup and a night light. Although the V150SG is designed for quick set-up and use, you must take certain precautions when using it as the steam it produces can damage furniture or cause accidental injury. Additionally, you must clean and disinfect your vaporiser regularly to prevent the build-up of scale or microorganisms that can interfere with the vaporiser's efficiency as well as potentially cause health problems.

Things you need
- Inhalant (optional)
- Lint-free microfiber cloths
- Mild detergent
- Distilled white vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide (optional)
Grasp the steam unit on your Vicks V150SG Vaporizer. Turn it in either direction to unlock and remove it from the water reservoir. Set it aside.
Fill the reservoir with water to the fill level mark and then add approximately 1/8 teaspoon of salt to the water.
Insert the steam unit into the mouth of the reservoir and wait approximately 10 seconds. If the unit floats, remove it and pour out some of the water. If it doesn't float, turn it to lock it in place.
Place your vaporiser on a flat, level waterproof and heat-resistance surface in a well-ventilated room approximately 4 feet out of reach of people or pets.
Add medicine or a vapour product such as Kaz Inhalant or Vicks VapoSteam to the vaporiser. If you're using Kaz Inhalant, add 1 tablespoon to the medicine cup. If you're using Vicks VapoSteam, unlock and remove the steam unit, add the product to the water reservoir, and then replace and lock the steam unit.
Plug in your vaporiser. If you don't see steam or only see low steam after approximately 10 minutes, unplug the vaporiser, remove the steam unit and add a pinch or two of salt. Return the steam unit to the reservoir and try again.
Clean your vaporiser between refills. Unplug it, rinse out the water in the reservoir and wipe its interior with a damp cloth. If you used VapoSteam in the reservoir, wash the reservoir with mild detergent and then rinse thoroughly with hot water before refilling and using it again.
Wash and de-scale the vaporiser weekly. Fill a sink with 4 inches of distilled, white vinegar. Place the steam unit in the vinegar for 10 minutes.
Rinse the unit under warm tap water: block the hole at the bottom of the unit with your fingertips or palm, run the water through the Steam Guard at the top and then swish the water around inside the unit. Remove your fingertips or palm to drain the water. Repeat until the vinegar smell disappears.
Dump the water from the reservoir, wash it with mild detergent and rinse thoroughly.
Refill it with 1-gallon clean water and 1 teaspoon of household bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Wait 20 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with tap water. If you used bleach, rinse until you can no longer smell it.
Dry the excess water and then refill the reservoir. Reassemble the steam unit and reservoir, and then use your vaporiser.
