How to Program a Chevy Aveo Key

Updated February 21, 2017

Many Chevrolet vehicles feature transponder key technologies that allow you to use electronic keys to unlock your doors and open the boot. You can program as many as four keys to your Aveo in seconds from your driver's seat. These keys are known as chip keys or ignition keys. The programming sequence allows you to use the keys right away.

Enter your car and insert your key into the ignition.

Turn the key to the "On" position for 10 minutes and 30 seconds and then return it to the "Off" position.

Repeat step 2 two more times and end the third cycle with the key in the "Off" position.

Turn the key back "On" and start the vehicle to end the programming sequence.
