Cricut machines are used to cut multiple die cuts with purchased theme cartridges. The size of the die cuts can be adjusted to fit your desired craft project. One of the ongoing expenses of owning a Cricut machine is the Cricut mat. This is the sticky mat that holds your paper and feeds it into the machine. After several uses, the mat loses its tackiness and needs to be replaced. Make your Cricut mats sticky again using inexpensive products from your crafting supplies.

Things you need
- Dish soap
- Masking tape
- Newspaper or paint tarp
- Repositionable spray adhesive or spray stencil adhesive
Wash your mat in warm soapy water to remove paper fibres. Use your hands to wash the mat. Do not use a rag, as this will leave lint fibres on the mat surface. Allow the mat to air dry.
Apply masking tape on the border around the printed grid on your mat. Continue to apply masking tape to the edge of the mat. This will prevent the adhesive from sticking to the edges that will feed under the rollers on the Cricut machine.
Spread out sheets of newspaper or a paint tarp in a well-ventilated area. Cover a surface area at least three times the size of the Cricut mat to catch the overspray. Center the mat with the grid side up on the covered surface.
Spray the Cricut mat lightly using a repositionable spray adhesive or a spray stencil adhesive. Do not apply a thick coat. Allow the spray to dry. The mat will become sticky when the adhesive dries. Remove the masking tape.
