The SIM (subscriber identity module) card is a small chip that fits in the battery compartment of your Motorola Razr cell phone. The purpose of this card is to store all of the billing data of the user. If you would like to switch service plans, you will have to remove and replace the SIM card currently in your Razr.

Power off your Motorola Razr and turn the unit over.
Press the battery release latch at the top of the battery door down and remove the battery door from the unit. Remove the battery from the unit.
Locate the rectangular SIM card in the top corner of the battery compartment. It is held in place by a thin metal latch. Slide the card out of the latch and set it aside.
Slide a new card in the old one's place, making sure it is covered by the latch. Replace the battery and battery door.
