How to set the unlock options on my toyota rav4 key fob

Updated February 21, 2017

The Toyota RAV4 is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) that features a number of common technologies, including the ability to install and program keyless entry remotes to your vehicle. You can set the lock and unlock mechanism for your remote in just minutes from your driver's seat. This can be done with nothing more than your remote and ignition key.

Enter your car. Close and unlock all the doors, except the driver's door. Keep the driver's door open.

Put your key in the ignition and remove it twice in a row. Close and open the driver's door. Insert and remove the key again and close and open the door two more times.

Put your key into the ignition again. Close the driver's door, turn the ignition "On" and then "Off," and remove the key again.

Wait for the door locks to cycle. Press and hold the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on your remote for two seconds and release.

Press and hold just the "Lock" button for two seconds, wait for the locks to click. Release the "Lock" button to end the programming procedure.
