How to Import Emoticons for Office Communicator

Emoticons are representations of an emotion that you would like to express when using Microsoft Office Communicator to chat. Emoticons or smileys are a way to express your mood or an emotion without having to type out words. Importing emoticons into the message body of Communicator is done by making a change to the settings of the program. This will allow the emoticon will be seen when sending a message.

    Double click the Microsoft Office Communicator icon to open the program.

    Click the "Settings" button, which is located in the upper left corner of the program window.

    Put a check in the box for "Show Emoticons in instant messages" and click the "Apply" button.

    Click a recipient from the user list to display the "Conversation" window. This will start a new session.
