A person who wants to unlock his Samsung C300 probably wants to switch to a different network carrier. Not only does cell phone unlocking let you switch from one GSM network to another, but it also increases the resale value of your phone. Perhaps the simplest method to unlock your phone is through an unlock code. This is also called remote SIM card unlocking.

Find out the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number of your cell phone. To view this number, dial *#06# through the phone or look on the sticker under the phone's battery.
Call your mobile phone carrier's help desk and talk to a customer support representative. Request an unlock code for your Samsung C300 and tell the phone's IMEI, if required. You can also purchase the unlock code from a website. (See Resources for links to some websites that offer cellphone unlock codes.) You must provide the IMEI number, the name of your network and your billing details on the website.
Power off the phone and replace the SIM card of the current network (to which the phone is locked) with a SIM card of any other network, and power it on again.
Enter the unlock code when the phone asks for a password. If it displays the message "Insert Correct SIM Card," compose #0111*CODE# on the phone. Replace the "CODE" with the actual unlock code. After entering the unlock code, you should see a message saying "SIM Restriction Off," which means the phone has been unlocked.
