Most computers now have a built-in Bluetooth receiver. This allows you to connect directly to a wireless Bluetooth device without the aid of a cable or transmitter. However, if the Bluetooth equipment is out of reach and the Bluetooth signal is too weak, you must increase the wireless range of your computer system. Doing so is only possible by installing a new Bluetooth USB adaptor with an increased reception range.

Plug the long-range Bluetooth USB adaptor into one of the USB ports on the computer system. Make sure the packaging of the device states "Long Range." This lets you know the device has an improved range over what was built in to your computer.
Insert the driver installation CD into the disc drive of the computer. Wait a moment and the installation wizard will load onto the screen.
Click "Next" on both the installation name and location to leave the default settings, then choose "Install" and the drivers for the long range Bluetooth receiver will load onto the system.
Restart the computer for the equipment to take affect. You are now ready to begin using the long-range Bluetooth connection on your computer.
