How to delete SIM card data

Updated April 17, 2017

SIM (Subscriber Identification Modules) cards, are small, transferable cards used in GSM-based (Global System for Mobile Communication) mobile phones. The information stored on SIM cards includes phone numbers, text messages, music and photos. The information stored on SIM cards is easily deleted, regardless of the service provider who issued the SIM card or the type of phone in which they are used.

Navigate to the files you wish to delete by using the menu buttons on your phone. These can be contacts, photos, music or other data.

Highlight the file you wish to delete by clicking on it once.

Select the "Menu" button on your phone. This will pull up a list of commands, select "Delete" from the command list.

Choose "Yes" or "OK" when prompted if you are sure you want to delete this item. This will remove the data from your SIM card.

Repeat steps 1 to 3 to delete additional data.

Once information has been deleted, it cannot be retrieved. Be certain you wish to permanently remove the selected data from your phone before selecting "Delete."
