Safari is the Web browser created by Apple and distributed as part of the Mac OS X operating system. Safari should be installed by default on the Apple PowerBook G4, but if you’ve restored your computer from scratch, lost your data or simply deleted the application, you can easily re-download it from Apple’s website for free.

Open the Apple menu and select “Software Update...” Mac OS X will check for any available updates. Select “Install Now” to install the latest updates to the operating system. Restart the computer after the installations complete, if prompted.
Visit Apple’s website to download the latest version of Safari. Select “Free Download > Download Now.” Save the DMG file to your hard drive.
Double-click the DMG file to open it within Finder. A new window will open, containing the Safari installer package. Double-click this file to launch the Safari installer.
Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the installation. You may be asked to restart the computer.
