Instructions

    Bookshelf Mount

  1. 1

Measure the thickness of the wood panel on the bookshelf with a measuring tape where the light will be mounted. Obtain two self-tapping wood screws that are slightly less in length than this dimension so that the tips will not protrude through the other side of the panel when driven in.

  2. 2

Hold the light to your desired mounting position. Make pencil marks on the bookshelf surface through the mounting holes on each side of the lamp base with a pencil. Lower the lamp from the bookshelf.

  3. 3

Run the self-tapping screws into the pencil marks on the bookshelf surface a few turns with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove the screws. Position the lamp base so that the mounting holes are lined up with the screw holes in the bookcase surface.

  4. 4

Run the screws through the mounting holes in the lamp base and into the screw holes made in the above step. Tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver.

  5. 5

Plug the lamp cord connector into the power port on the lamp base. Plug the other end of the cord into a wall outlet.

    Wall Mount

  1. 1

Hold the lamp base to the desired mounting position on the wall. Make pencil marks on the wall surface through the mounting holes on each side of the lamp base with a pencil. Lower the lamp from the wall.

  2. 2

Remove the mounting screws from two threaded drywall anchors with a Phillips screwdriver.

  3. 3

Thread the drywall anchors onto the pencil marks on the wall with a Phillips screwdriver. Tighten the anchors until the lip is flush with the wall surface.

  4. 4

Line up the mounting holes on the lamp base with the drywall anchors on the wall. Drive the anchor mounting screws through the mounting holes and into the anchors with a Phillips screwdriver.

  5. 5

Plug the lamp cord connector into the power port on the lamp base. Plug the other end of the cord into a wall outlet.

Tips and warnings

  • This lighting gets very hot when switched on. Turn the lamp off and let it cool before changing a bulb. Use only a 20 watt bulb or smaller. Handle the bulb by its base, as touching the glass will leave an oily residue from your skin, possibly shortening the life of the bulb. Keep flammable items away from the light.
