How to Add a Download Video Button on YouTube

YouTube is a website where users can upload their own videos to share with others on the Internet. When you are viewing a video, there is no easy way to to download and save it as a file on your computer. However, you can install add-ons to your browser that will add a "Download" button on YouTube videos. You can simply click this button to download any video that you want to save.

    Firefox

    Go to the Easy YouTube Video Downloader page on the Firefox Add-ons website.

    Click the "Add to Firefox" button, then choose "Install" from the pop-up window.

    Restart your browser to allow the changes to take place.

    Navigate to the YouTube video that you would like to save. You should now see a "Download As" button under the video. Click this button and you will be prompted to choose a video file format. The video will be saved to your computer.

    Internet Explorer

    Go to the IE7Pro website to download and install IE7Pro.

    Restart Internet Explorer to finalise the installation. You should now see a blue and white IE Pro icon in your browser's bottom task bar.

    Right-click the IE Pro icon and choose "Preferences."

    Click the "User Scripts" option from the left pane, then place a check in the box next to "Download Video from YouTube."

    Navigate to the YouTube video that you would like to save. You should now see a "Download Video" link on the video's page.

    Go to the Download YouTube Videos as MP4 script webpage.

    Click the "Install" button and confirm the installation at the prompt.

    Navigate to the YouTube video that you would like to save. You should now see a "Download" button on the video's page. Clicking this button allows you to choose what video file format you would like to save.
