WinRAR is a file compression and decompression program that allows you to archive and unarchive, as well as split and merge, a wide range of compressed file formats. One such format compatible with WinRAR is the ZIP archive file format. If you want to extract or merge split ZIP files, WinRAR allows you to do so in a few simple steps.

Instructions

  1. 1

Locate the split ZIP file that is the first file in the archive. The first file in a split ZIP file will either have ".zip" as its file extension and the subsequent files will have ".z01," ".z02" and so forth as their file extensions, or the file will be labelled "part1.zip." For example, if a file is named "name," the first file would either be the "name.zip" file or the "name.part1.zip" file, not the "name.z01" or "name.part2.zip" files.

  2. 2

Right-click the first split ZIP file, highlight the "WinRAR" option in the context menu and click the "Extract Here" option.

  3. 3

Allow several minutes for the split ZIP files to be merged into one file. After the files are done being merged, the file is saved to the same directory as the split ZIP files.
