How to Add an Alternate Email Address to Your Hotmail Account

Updated March 23, 2017

Adding an additional e-mail address on Hotmail is a good idea should you have issues with the account. For example, you can have messages from Hotmail sent to your second account if there are issues with hackers or you need to change your password. You can forward e-mails to and from your Hotmail account to the secondary accounts. If you did not set up your secondary account upon signing up for your free Hotmail e-mail account, you can still add the new address at any point.

Log into your Hotmail account with your username and password.

Click “Options” in the top right corner followed by “More.”

Select “View and edit your personal information” and “Alternative Email Account.”

Type in your other e-mail address in both boxes. Verify the account by following the link sent to your non-Hotmail e-mail address.
