If you are in business and need to give your clients a professional-looking invoice, but don't want to go out and spend money on some expensive software, don't worry. Chances are you are using Microsoft Office to write your letters, your proposals and many other documents; you can also use this program for producing and printing professional-looking invoices. Microsoft Office---its word-processing component, Microsoft Word, in particular---comes with ready-to-use invoice templates you can install, edit and print out for your clients.

    Open Microsoft Word.

    Click "File," then "New" on the toolbar. The "New Document" window opens.

    Click "Invoices" on the left side of the screen, and click an invoice template on the right side to select it.

    Click "Download."

    After the template downloads, click "File," then "Save As"; save a new Word Document using the template.

  6. 6

    Click each object and field to customise the company name, address, logo and everything else to fit your company's identity. Save and print your document.
