Sometimes rebooting your Acer Aspire laptop is the only way to correct errors within Windows. If Windows stalls or isn't working optimally, a reboot may correct the issue. Rebooting an Acer Aspire consists of turning it off, turning it back on again, and reloading the operating system. Because the process of rebooting your computer is pretty common between different makes and models and makes, even the least experienced computer user can do it.

Save all of your open documents and files, and close any open programs. Any of your unsaved work will be lost during the reboot process.

Restart your Acer Aspire by clicking "Start," which is on the bottom left-hand corner of your computer screen.

Click "Shutdown," located in the bottom right-hand corner of the pop-up start menu. There are options to switch users, restart, log off, sleep, hibernate, and stand by.

Click on "Restart," located in the shutdown pop-up menu, a command that tells your Acer Aspire to reboot. This process takes only a few minutes. Then log into Windows when prompted.
