How to Shut Off Closed Captions in LED LG TVs

Almost all TVs, including your LG LED TV, come equipped with a closed-captioning feature that you access through on-screen menus and your remote control. Most TV programs are required by the Federal Communications Commission to provide closed captioning for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
The captions are also helpful for people learning English as they can see the words while simultaneously hearing them spoken.
Press the "Menu" key on your remote control. If there is no "Menu" key, press the "Home" key. The on-screen home menu appears on your TV screen.
Press the down arrow navigation button and highlight the "Option" menu. Press the "Enter" button on your remote. If there is no "Option" menu, highlight and select "Setup," then highlight and select "Option."
