How to Reset a Toshiba Plasma TV to the Factory Default

Updated February 21, 2017

A Toshiba plasma TV connects to your VCR, DVD player, cable TV and satellite dish. To help you find shows to watch, it comes with an interactive "TV Guide On Screen" program guide. You can program up to 27 channels as your favourites, and then scan through only these, skipping channels that you don't normally watch. If the TV has a problem, or if the settings you have changed no longer serve your needs, reset it to the factory default settings.

Press the "Menu" button on the remote control to bring up the TV's main menu.

Press the navigation buttons to highlight the "Setup" menu, and then press the "Enter" button.

Press the navigation buttons to highlight "Installation," then press the "Enter" button.

Press the navigation buttons to highlight "System Information," then press the "Enter" button.

Press the navigation buttons to highlight "Factory Defaults," then press the "Enter" button. Type in your PIN code at the prompt, or "0000" if you have not set a PIN code.

Press the navigation buttons to highlight "Yes" and press the "Enter" button. The TV will turn off automatically after a few seconds.

Unplug the TV's power cord from the wall, then plug it back in. The TV is now reset to factory default settings.
