How to wash your hair with lemon juice

If your hair is looking dull, weighed down or too dry, you may need to wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo. Of course, you can go to the store and buy a clarifying shampoo, but you can save money by getting some concentrated lemon juice. Since lemon juice is packed with vitamin C--an antioxidant and natural acid--it will help to strip away the product build-up that is making your hair look dull and lifeless.

Measure 1 tsp of baking soda and add it to a mixing bowl. Add 1 tsp of concentrated lemon juice to the bowl and squeeze a little less shampoo than what you would normally use into the bowl. Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly with a spoon.

Put your head in the sink, or get in the shower and wet your hair. Use your hands to apply the shampoo mixture like you normally would. Massage your scalp for about one minute and gently squeeze downward with your fingers to get the clarifying shampoo mixture all through your hair from the roots to the ends.

Rinse the shampoo mixture out of your hair until the water runs clear and condition your hair as usual. Your hair will feel lighter, softer and look shinier than it did before. Wash your hair with this lemon juice and baking soda mixture every two weeks, or more often if you use a lot of product in your hair. Even your regular conditioner can cause build-up that you will need to strip out every so often.
