A Samsung flat-panel TV has the capability of being updated to provide for a more stable TV signal or to add additional features through a built-in Ethernet port. This enables the TV to connect to the Internet through a wired home network and contact the Samsung server. An automated process then downloads and installs the most recent firmware into the TV’s operating system. The user does not need to access or choose the firmware, and the entire process can be completed within an hour or two at the most.
