How to Reset ReadyNAS Duo

Updated April 17, 2017

When other methods of recovering your ReadyNAS Duo have failed, you can reset the system. The ReadyNAS Duo user manual warns that resetting your ReadyNAS Duo should be a last result for repairing the device. Performing a system reset will erase all of your data and restore the ReadyNAS Duo back to its original factory default configuration.

Turn your system off.

Press and hold the "System Reset" switch with a paper clip. The switch is located on the back of the machine.

Power on the system while still holding the "System Reset" switch. Continue to hold the switch for 30 seconds after powering on the Duo. The disk LEDs will flash twice signifying the reset has been completed.

Release the "System Reset" switch.
